June Brigman

June Brigman (born October 26, 1960 in Atlanta , Georgia) is an American comic book artist and illustrator.

Life and work

Originally from the southern states , Brigman began working as a full-time comic book artist in the 1980s. Since then, among other things, she has made a name for herself through her work on the innovative series Power Pack, which she created together with the author Louise Simonson in 1984 , as well as through her work as an illustrator for mini-series for the major US publishers DC-Comics - for which she, for example, in 1994 illustrated a miniseries for the superhero Supergirl - and Marvel Comics and as an illustrator of newspaper comic strips such as Brenda Starr , which she supervised from 1996-2011, excelled. In addition, Brigman became one of the first women to succeed in asserting herself as an artist in the "male domain" of the US comic industry, and as a lecturer at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art in Dover, New Jersey, where she since 2005 teaching, paying attention. She has been drawing Mary Worth's Sunday Strips since 2016 .
