Jung-gu ( Korean 중구 ) is one of the eight districts of Daegu . It is one of the central districts of the city. Literally translated the name means central district . The district borders the Buk-gu , Dong-gu , Suseong-gu , Nam-gu , Dalseo-gu, and Seo-gu neighborhoods in a clockwise direction .

Yoo Kyu-ha (류규하) is the district mayor. He is a member of the Mirae-tonghap party .
