Dong-gu ( Korean 동구 ) is one of the eight districts of Daegu . It is a north-eastern district of the city. Literally translated the name means Eastern District . The district borders the Suseong-gu , Jung-gu and Buk-gu districts in a clockwise direction .

Bae Gi-cheol (배기철) is the district mayor. He is a member of the Mirae-tonghap party .
