The Mirae-tonghap Party ( Korean : 미래 통합 당 , transliteration : Mirae-tonghap-dang ; German : United Future Party ) is a conservative opposition party in South Korea that was founded on February 17, 2020 as an association of the Jayu-hanguk party , the Saeroun -bosu party , Onward for Future 4.0 and other conservative small parties and organizations in view of the parliamentary elections in South Korea 2020 . Hwang Kyo-ahn , who had been chairman of the Jayu-hanguk party until then, was elected as party chairman . After the election defeat, he immediately resigned from his post.

program

The party criticizes Moon Jae-in's government for failures in the COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea . The MTP believes it would have been possible to contain the virus in the early stages of the outbreak. The party has condemned the government's reluctance to ban Chinese people from entering the country and criticized the inadequate distribution of face masks. In addition, the party wants to achieve the abolition of the Ministry of Public Affairs and accelerate the expansion of nuclear energy in South Korea . There is a desire to relax the rules on refurbishing and rebuilding old housing in order to build many houses in areas where there is a housing shortage. In addition, the party advocates relaxing the mortgage regulations so that people can buy houses. In the opinion of the MTP, the taxes of the middle class should be reduced by adjusting the standards for high-priced housing and the party would like to expand the offer of housing for young and newly married couples.

The MTP is also campaigning for the Korean claim to the Liancourt rocks . On March 29, 2020, the party’s own logo song was released with the title 독도 는 우리 땅 (Dokdo is our country).

The party wants a new resolution of the UN Security Council to reach, in order to strengthen the position of the US-led UN command in the country. According to the MTP, the military presence on the border between North Korea and South Korea is to be increased both on land and at sea ( Northern Limit Line ). The MTP also called for better protection for North Korean refugees in South Korea . She wants to pass a law to prevent North Korean refugees from being returned to their country of origin, as it first happened in November 2019.

Party color

A light shade of pink was chosen as the party color of the MTP, which the party officially calls Happy Pink . The name comes from the desire to achieve happiness for people. The color change should help the party to shake off its supposedly conservative image and expand its support groups to centrist and younger voters. The party's own Yeouido Institute also uses pink to appeal to younger voters. It was also considered to refer to the shade as millennial pink .
