Shim Jae-chul (born January 18, 1958 in Gwangju ) is a conservative South Korean politician and former member of the Gukhoe . He is a member of the Mirae Tonghap party and served as its group leader in parliament.
Shim has represented the Anyang Dongan-gu in the National Assembly since May 2000 . He lost his re- election in the parliamentary elections in South Korea in 2020 . After the chairman of the Mirae-tonghap party, Hwang Kyo-ahn , resigned immediately after the election defeat, Shim took over the party on an interim basis.
