The Junge Mitte is the youth organization of the CSP Ostbelgien. It sees itself as an independent and pro-European youth organization that represents the voice of youth in Ostbelgien. The chairman of the Junge Mitte is Cédric Falter from Eupen.

history

The Junge Mitte (JM) will be an integral part of the CSP from 2021. It is not a separate party, but an independent member (similar to a section) of the CSP Ostbelgien.

Members

Together, the Junge Mitte results in the largest political youth organization in East Belgium with 15 to 20 members. Every person is allowed to participate in Junge Mitte and implement / express their own ideas / wishes. The age limit for the middle boys is 35 years. To become a member of the Junge Mitte, a request via Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp is sufficient. The same applies to independent participation in a meeting.

Every person is allowed to take part in youth center meetings independently and without obligation. The meetings are public and do not require membership. Participation according to projects is also possible. The members of the Junge Mitte do not pay membership fees.

Together, the Junge Mitte results in the largest political youth organization in East Belgium with 15–20 members. The Junge Mitte acts cross-national and cross-party in order to achieve advantages for the youth.

aims

The Junge Mitte has been active in the following areas in the past months and years: informing young people about politics with a podcast, videos and a memes advent calendar, struggle for a sustainable society, school system, struggle for a liberal society, liberal rules for homosexuals Blood donations, support for organ donation, support for students, support for German-speaking minorities, liberal rules for tattoo studios, receipt of the Fantasy Dance FM radio station, exception for language minorities on Netflix, Amazon, Sky & Co or, for example, the fight against censorship on the Internet. In addition, Junge Mitte helped organize past CSP / EPP election campaigns , such as the 2019 CSP election campaign ( Parliament of the German-speaking Community ), CSP-Eupen 2018 (community level) and the 2019 EU election campaign ( Pascal Arimont ). In addition, Junge Mitte tries to help the mother party with various tasks, for example the organization of party conferences or theme evenings.

Alignment

The Junge Mitte can be found in the middle of the political spectrum and does not want to be understood as a stereotypical conservative organization. The Junge Mitte is liberal, progressive, cosmopolitan and strives for a social market economy. This should create social issues and enable opportunities for young people. In addition, Junge Mitte would like to act across parties.

The Junge Mitte wants to help optimize its own party and calls for political changes, innovations and developments at European, national, regional and community levels.

Junge Mitte feels connected to other youth organizations in Europe. These include the Junge Union , Frischluft eV, Jeunes cdH, YEPP and the Jong CD&V.

Members in parliaments and councils

Some members have made the leap into politics. Examples are Antonios Antoniadis , Colin Kraft, Jolyn Huppertz, Jérôme Franssen, Mathias Cormann or Nicole De Palmenaer.

At the moment three members of the Junge Mitte are represented in a parliament / council. Jolyn Huppertz is the youngest member of the parliament of the German-speaking community. Simen Van Meensel is a member of the Eupen City Council and Jacques Schrobiltgen is a member of the Liège Provincial Council.
