Jurong Bird Park
The Jurong Bird Park ( Chinese裕廊飞禽公园; Malay Taman Burung Jurong ) is a zoo in Singapore , in which birds are kept. The bird park has a size of 20 hectares and is located on the western slope of Jurong Hill area Boon Lay in the district Jurong .
More than 5,000 birds of around 400 species can be seen there, especially species from Southeast Asia . The park has the largest publicly accessible aviary , the so-called waterfall aviary . It houses over 1500 birds of 60 species on 20,000 m². There is also Jurong Fall , an artificial 30 meter high waterfall.
In Lory Loft , a 3000 m² and nine story high aviary, over 1000 Loris can be seen.
The bird park opened on January 3, 1971. The cost was 3.5 million Singapore dollars .
