Jutta Hertlein

Jutta Hertlein (born December 25, 1939 in Berlin ) is a former German politician ( SPD ).

Hertlein first went to school in Berlin-Friedrichshain . In 1959 she graduated from high school in North Rhine-Westphalia , followed by studying and doing a newspaper internship in Heidelberg . In 1965 she moved back to Berlin. Hertlein attended a distance learning course at Freie Universität in the field of further training for journalists. From 1977 to 2000 she was an editor at test magazine , after which she was freelance.

Hertlein became a member of the SPD in 1976. She held various functions in the party, most recently she was district delegate and deputy department chair. She was a citizen's deputy in the Steglitz district in the field of popular education, was a member of the Steglitz district council and was deputy parliamentary group leader there. She was also a member of the conscientious objection committee . From 1995 to 1999 and again from 2001 to 2006 she was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives . In 2001 Hertlein was directly elected in the constituency of Steglitz-Zehlendorf 3 . In the House of Representatives, she sat on the Urban Development and Environmental Protection Committee, the Petitions Committee and the Data Protection Subcommittee. In both legislative periods she was the consumer policy spokeswoman for her group.
