Jutta Wagner (born June 15, 1949 in Kassel ) is a German lawyer and lives in Berlin.

Life and accomplishments

Jutta Wagner grew up in Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Bochum, on Lake Constance and in Hamburg. She studied law from 1970 to 1973 in Hamburg and Berlin, where she passed the first state examination in 1973. Then she was employed at the Free University of Berlin as an assistant for training issues.

She spent her legal clerkship in Berlin and passed the second state examination in July 1978. Jutta Wagner has been working as a lawyer since November 1978; she spent the years from 1989 to 1991 in Brussels. She has also been a notary since 1996 and a specialist lawyer for family law since 1997, and in her office she deals with cases of family and inheritance law as well as notary matters.

As early as 1980, Wagner had argued before the Federal Constitutional Court that unmarried fathers could also exercise parental care for their child with the consent of the mother, and at that time he lost it. In 2011, she was not happy about the other extreme: Unmarried fathers can demand equal parental rights and joint custody as part of a new regulation, which, according to Wagner, will lead to a flood of lawsuits in family courts.
