Captain Knaller

Käptn Knaller was a German comic by the Spanish draftsman Jaime Mainou (1930-2006) and was published from 1969 to 1973. A radio play version was also released in 1973 .

history

The inventor of Käptn Knallers was Jaime Mainou, who worked for Belgian and German comic series. Captain Knaller appeared in Felix , Felix Extra , Wastl and Klasse . The series takes place during Queen Victoria's reign in the 1860s ; apparently Knaller is a British citizen. With his schooner Donnerwolke he travels over the oceans and experiences numerous adventures. Besides himself, the crew of the Thunder Cloud consists of the fat black ship's cook Quimbo, the cabin boy Pitter and the tame condor Archibald.

A total of around 55 episodes appeared in four-color printing. As far as known, the complete edition was published in Wastl volumes 116 to 173.

In 1973 at least three radio plays appeared on the Europa label :

1. A son of a god goes up in the air

2. When Knaller went on the warpath

3. Knaller makes the big race .

Hans Paetsch provided the narration .
