Carrier work
The term Kärrnerarbeit (also Kärrner "Wagenzieher", from Karren ) stands for hard physical work . Originally this was work that was carried out by a cart driver, a " Kärrner ". The term has been applied to strenuous, tough work in general. But it is also used in a figurative sense when solving a problem requires particular effort and perseverance.
