The Ködnitzkirchl , also known as the Sacred Heart Chapel , is a listed ( list entry ) chapel in the Ködnitztal , municipality of Kals am Großglockner .

The Ködnitzkirchl is located in the rear Ködnitztal on the Jörgnalm. It was built around the middle of the 20th century and is surrounded by alpine huts and an old stock of larch trees. The wooden church, built on a rectangular floor plan, is protected by a shingle-covered gable roof. The north-facing tower has round-arched sound openings and an onion hood . The interior of the chapel is kept simple, with a printed image of the Sacred Heart above the altar table. The chapel has a wooden aedicula with a Lourdes grotto , prints of the Stations of the Cross and numerous images of saints and votive images .
