The Ködnitztal is a left side valley of the Kalser valley . It lies entirely in the municipal area of Kals am Großglockner and extends from the slopes of the Großglockner (Ködnitzkees) to the confluence of the Ködnitzbach in the Kalserbach near the Ködnitz fraction , with the brook in this area forming the border between the Schobergruppe and the Glocknergruppe . In the valley lies the Glor-Berg fraction , with the Schliederler-Hof at around 1,720 meters above sea level forming the highest populated point in the valley. Further into the valley is the Lucknerhaus ( 1918 m above sea level ), which is an important starting point for mountaineers. The large car park Glocknerwinkel located here can be reached via the toll road Kalser Glocknerstraße .
From the Lucknerhaus the ascent leads via the Lucknerhütte ( 2241 m above sea level ) to the Stüdlhütte ( 2801 m above sea level ).
