Cologne Confederation

The Hanseatic Day in Cologne decided on November 19, 1367, the Cologne Confederation as an alliance in the war against Denmark (and Norway) . The three non-Hanseatic cities of Amsterdam (Holland), Brielle (Zealand) and Harderwijk (Gelderland) were also members of the Confederatio .

The association was closed for the duration of the war plus an additional three years and was continuously extended until 1385 after the Peace of Stralsund . Among other things, it was decided to introduce a pound duty (weight tax) for the import and export of goods and an agreement on the number of warships to be deployed.
