Royal houses
The König'schen houses (historically also Kronenapotheke and Gasthaus zum Windhund ) are two large, listed buildings near the old town hall on Kronenstrasse in Kempten . Today's address is Kronenstrasse 3 and 5 .
Description and history
The substance is two three-storey buildings with tall mid -buildings and curved gables.
House number 29
House no.29 was built on the basis of a house from the 16th century around 1712 and was restored after a fire in 1741. The remarkable facade paintings were painted in the middle of the 18th century and renewed around 1900. Inside there is a rococo stucco from 1740/50.
House number 31
House 31 is now the Kronenapotheke, originally called the “Gasthaus zum Greyhound”. In 1771 the inn was rebuilt on behalf of the mayor Johann Georg König . The design of the outer facade dates from 1771 and was later adapted to house 29. There is also Rococo stucco from the same period in the premises.
