The Königskanzel is a lookout tower between Dornstetten and the Hallwangen district, which was built in 1911 on the occasion of the silver wedding of the Württemberg royal couple.

history

The last ruler of the Württemberg royal family, Wilhelm II , married Princess Charlotte zu Schaumburg-Lippe in 1886 . Because of his liberal and social attitudes he was very popular with the people, the silver wedding anniversary of 1911 was therefore celebrated all over the country, and in Dornstetten this tower was built in honor of him and his wife.

The tower has a U-shaped floor plan, it is 460 cm high and 500 cm wide including the parapet. Access is via a staircase attached to the side, there is no interior space (filled, no access). The tower is looked after by the Black Forest Association.

The plaque on the west side of the tower bears the inscription:
