Head (unit)

Köpfchen was a German measure of volume . It was a common grain measure in the Principality of Fulda .

It was a small unit of measurement that was derived from the larger dimensions of Mas , Malter and Metze .

  • 1 mas = 16 heads
  • 1 bitch = 4 heads
  • 1 Malter = 8 Mas = 32 Metze = 128 heads = 17 713 centiliters
  • 1 head was 70 5/16 Parisian cubic inches and was equivalent to 2/5 Prussian capers or 1 13/33 liters.
