Körnerstrasse 26 (Offenbach am Main)
The row house at Körnerstraße 26 in the west end of Offenbach am Main is a listed residential building.
History and construction
From 1905 , the Offenbach-based construction company Gebrüder Hasenbach built seven terraced houses on Körnerstrasse between Geleitstrasse and Lützowstrasse . All row houses were partially destroyed by the effects of war in World War II and their reconstruction took place in very different ways.
The façades of the ensemble are uniformly two-storey and two-zone, but the architectural decoration makes use of the richness of forms of historicism and is designed differently on each facade.
Number 26 is the most original and is therefore - next to the building at Körnerstrasse 32 - a listed building. The two-storey building has a richly decorated plaster facade with sandstone windows and doors. The conclusion is a multiple curved decorative gable with a triple-coupled window. Above the bay window there is a balcony with a wrought iron grille. In addition, the decorative grille of the main entrance and the fence have been preserved.
The building is a cultural monument for historical and artistic reasons.
