Körnerstrasse 32 (Offenbach am Main)
The row house at Körnerstraße 32 in the west end of Offenbach am Main is a listed residential building.
History and construction
From 1905 , the Offenbach-based construction company Gebrüder Hasenbach built seven terraced houses on Körnerstrasse between Geleitstrasse and Lützowstrasse . All row houses were partially destroyed by the effects of war in World War II , and their reconstruction took place in very different ways.
The façades of the ensemble are uniformly designed in two storeys and two zones. The architectural decoration makes use of the wealth of forms of historicism and is designed differently on each facade. Number 32 is a high quality example of this picturesque row of row houses and is therefore - next to the building at Körnerstraße 26 - a listed building.
The two-story building presents itself with a plastered facade and rich sandstone decorations. On the first floor there is a bay window with a semicircular gable with a shell motif on strong consoles. On the converted attic there is a high front gable with a floral motif. A semicircular portal and a smaller staff entrance are located on the ground floor. The stone of the walls is partly rusticated. The windows of the building are divided and the fencing has been preserved.
The renovation of the building was honored with the monument protection award of the city of Offenbach in 2013.
The building is a cultural monument for historical and artistic reasons.
