Artists' house Goldener Pflug
The Künstlerhaus Goldener Pflug is a building on Alter Markt 27 in Halle (Saale) . It was built in 1605 and is one of the oldest surviving residential buildings in the city. It has been used by artists for studios and exhibitions since 2013.
history
In 1605 a new building was built for the Golden Plow Inn . Since 1905, the artists' association has met there on the plow of painters, sculptors, theater people and actors. It has not been used as an inn since the 1920s. In the 1940s, the artists' association dissolved.
In the 1990s the building was used by the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments for offices and workshops;
Use by artists began in 2013. It has been renovated since 2019.
