The Künstlerhaus Klagenfurt

The Künstlerhaus Klagenfurt is the seat and exhibition building of the Carinthian Art Association .

The Carinthian Art Association was founded in 1907 with the impetus to build an exhibition building on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the throne of Emperor Franz Joseph in 1908. The appeal for donations was successful, and so in the years up to 1913 the building at Goethepark in downtown Klagenfurt was constructed according to plans by Franz Baumgartner . Georg Horčička was responsible for the construction management .

The listed building is attributed to the Wörthersee architecture , a synthesis of Art Nouveau , Heimatstil and New Baroque .
