Kōji Maeda ( Japanese 前 田 浩 二 , Maeda Kōji ; born February 3, 1969 in Kagoshima Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player and coach.
Career
Maeda learned to play soccer on the school team at Kagoshima Jitsugyo High School and the college team at the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya . He signed his first contract with Matsushita Electric in 1991 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League . With the founding of the professional league J.League in 1992 and the associated reorganization of Japanese football, Matsushita Electric became Gamba Osaka . In 1993 he moved to the second division club PJM Futures (today: Sagan Tosu). For the club he completed 42 games. In 1995 he moved to league rivals Fukuoka Blux (today: Avispa Fukuoka). In 1995 he became champions of the Japan Football League with the club . In 1996 he moved to the first division club Yokohama wing . In 1997 he reached the final of the Kaiser Cup . In 1998 he won the Kaiser Cup with the club. For the club he completed 65 first division games. In 1999 he moved to league rivals Júbilo Iwata . With the club he became Japanese champion in 1999 . In 2000 he moved to league rivals FC Tokyo . In April 2000 he moved to league rivals Avispa Fukuoka . For the club, he completed 42 first division games. In 2002 he moved to league competitor Vissel Kobe . In August 2002 he moved to the second division Sagan Tosu . In 2003 he moved to Volca Kagoshima . At the end of 2004 he ended his career as a soccer player.
