Kōji Sakamoto ( Japanese 坂 本 紘 司 , Sakamoto Kōji ; born December 3, 1978 in Shiga Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Sakamoto learned to play soccer on the school team at Shizuoka Gakuen High School . He signed his first contract with Júbilo Iwata in 1997 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 2000 he moved to the second division club Shonan Bellmare . At the end of the 2009 season, the club rose to the J1 League. At the end of the 2010 season he was relegated to the J2 League . For the club he completed 456 games. At the end of 2012 he ended his career as a football player.
