The K.Bay.Sts.B. Sheet 310 is a Bavarian freight car . This is a two-axle open freight car based on the sample sheet 310 for the Bavarian State Railways according to the car registration list from 1913. The car type was built in two versions with side walls of different heights.
Constructive features
Underframe
The frame: the car was already built completely from profile iron and riveted. The outer side members were U-shaped with outward flanges. The cross members were also made of U-profiles and not cranked. The wagons had screw couplings with safety bars as a towing device. The delivery variant still had safety chains. The drawbar was spring-loaded throughout and in the middle. The wagons were equipped with rod buffers with an installation length of 612 mm. The buffer plates had a diameter of 370 mm.
drive
The wagons had half-timbered axle brackets of the short, straight design that were forged from flat iron. The axles were stored in split sliding axle bearings of Bavarian design. The wheels had type 38 spoked wheel bodies with a wheel diameter of 986 mm. The suspension in the delivery variant consisted of eight 1,130 mm long spring bars with a cross section of 76 x 13 mm. After 1876, the springs on all wagons were reinforced to increase the load weight and load capacity (1000/10500 kg → 12500/13125 kg). For this purpose, the number of spring leaves was increased to nine.
Car body
In the unbraked car, all side walls of the car body could be cordoned off. In some wagons, the side and end walls could only be removed with the help of tools. The frame of the car walls consisted of U and flat profiles. The walls of the car were 45 mm thick.
The loading openings on both sides had double-leaf, outward-opening doors made of wood with iron reinforcements and a clear loading width of 1,190 mm. For type 310 I -board walls were 1,100 mm high, the Type 310 II mm 1350.
On both sides of the side loading openings, the loading space was spanned by bows with a height of 2,100 mm above the top of the floor. With the help of these bows, wagon covers could be attached to protect goods (or cattle). For the transport of cattle, retaining rings were attached to the inside of the side walls.
