KB Home is a US construction company that specializes in building private homes. The listed company KB Home was originally founded in Detroit in 1957 as Kaufman & Broad and is now headquartered in Los Angeles . According to its own statements, KB Home has built and handed over more than 600,000 houses since it was founded. In 1967 the company expanded to France. The local branch has been independent as Kaufman & Broad since 2007 . KB Home maintains partnerships with companies such as AT&T , Carrier , Louisiana Pacific and Schneider Electric , which are commissioned with the initial equipment of the buildings.
In 2001, KB Home became involved in a legal battle after homeowners in Arlington , Texas discovered that their building site was contaminated with old ammunition. The US armed forces used the site for bombing practice in the 1940s and 1950s. The United States Army Corps of Engineers was tasked with recovering the ammunition.
