The Demokrative 14 , previously KIDitiative , was an electoral association in Bergisch Gladbach . When it was founded in 1999, it saw itself as an association of young voters and as a children and youth party . The KIDitiative mainly dealt with youth policy issues and advocated the interests of children, adolescents and young parents in Bergisch Gladbach.
In the local elections on September 12, 1999, the KIDitiative achieved 4.6 percent and thus two seats in the Bergisch Gladbach City Council . It benefited from the abolition of the 5 percent hurdle in North Rhine-Westphalia shortly before .
She ran again in the local elections in 2004 and made candidates for the city council and the office of mayor in Bergisch Gladbach. On September 26, 2004, it reached 6.47 percent in the election to the city council. For this legislative period it was represented with four seats in the city council and formed one of six parliamentary groups .
In the local elections in 2009, the KIDitiative could not keep the results of the last election. She again put up her own candidate for mayor, on August 30, 2009, she received 3.8 percent of the votes in the election for the city council and thus two seats. In 2009 she also ran for the first district election and was able to win a seat in the district assembly of the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis.
In the municipal elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2014 , the association stood as Democrat 14 in the Bergisch Gladbach city council elections and the district council elections. It also presented the candidate Klaus Graf for the election of the mayor. The group of voters achieved only one seat on the city council. Council member Fabian Schütz then announced on June 11, 2014 that he would continue his “political path” with other supporters on the Alternative for Germany .
