In KSVG is a KDE -specific implementation of the World Wide Web Consortium recommended SVG standards. Although KSVG was basically designed as a plug-in for the Konqueror web browser , SVG files can also be integrated and displayed in any other KDE application without any problems , as KSVG uses the KParts component technology.

The architecture of KSVG is very similar to KDE's KHTML , the rendering component for HTML , and is also used by Apple for their own rendering engine, WebKit, in the Safari browser, modified from KHTML .
