history

Version 1.0 was released on July 12, 2005, and version 2 was released on November 30.

From version 2, KTorrent supports trackerless operation and is the first Linux client to support protocol encryption in addition to the Java-based Azureus (now Vuze ).

In version 2.1 the interface was revised, torrents can now be grouped in order to keep track of many transmission processes and the Zeroconf extension was added.

Starting with version 3.0, KTorrent has been converted to the KDE version 4 libraries. From version 3.1 it is also possible to use the software under Windows .
