KWMU - St. Louis Public Radio is the flagship station for National Public Radio in St. Louis, Missouri. The station is owned and licensed to the University of Missouri – St. Louis . The station broadcasts its program on VHF 90.7 MHz with 100 kW. The stations WQUB on VHF 90.3 MHz for and KMST on VHF 88.5 and 96.3 MHz are connected.

program

KMWU's program essentially consists of NPR programs. NPR's major programs such as All Things Considered , Fresh Air and the Morning Edition will be carried over. In addition, own programs are broadcast in program windows.

KWMU and WQUB offer HD radio channels. WQUB broadcasts an all-jazz program on HD2 and an all-classic program on HD3. WQUB offers an AAA music format called "The Bridge" on HD2 and an all-classic program on HD3.

history

KMWU went on air in 1972. In the first few years the ragtime pianist Trebor Tichenor moderated the program Ragophile at the station. On July 26, 2012, KMWU officially took over the channel WQUB from Quincy University . From then on, WQUB served as a semi-relay station for KMWU and supplies the Tri-State Area (Illinois, Missouri and Iowa). As of July 1, 2017, the UMSL took over the KMST station from Rolla of the Missouri University of Science and Technology as a "satellite" for south-central Missouri.
