KXRY (own name XRAY ) is an "Independent Radio Station" from Portland , Oregon . The station is part of the internationally known music scene in Portland. It is broadcast on FM 91.1 M Hz and via a repeater in West Heaven on 107.1 MHz as K296FT and on HD channel 3 from KQAC (89.9 MHz with 5.9 k W ).
“The little station with big ideas” is the station's slogan. The broadcast license was first granted to KRRC on May 14, 1958. KXRY was founded through crowdfunding in 2012 and took over the license. Since then, KXRY has broadcast a mixture of music and progressive talk radio . Since 2014, the station has been broadcasting all day with the help of around 70 part-time DJs.
