The Church Supplementary Pension Fund Rhineland-Westphalia ( KZVK Rhineland-Westphalia for short ) is a church supplementary pension fund based in Dortmund . The public law institution was founded in 1955 and employs around 150 people. It is not in competition with other supplementary pension funds.

tasks

The task of the KZVK Rheinland-Westfalen is to provide the employees of the church and diaconal employers involved in private law with a company pension in old age, in the event of reduced earning capacity and for surviving dependents.

At the KZVK Rhineland-Westphalia, over 200,000 employees from church and diakonia are insured (supplementary pension), over 21,700 insured operate an additional, state-sponsored company pension (ZusatzrentePLUS) with the church supplementary pension fund by means of deferred compensation or a Riester pension. Over 70,000 pensioners are currently receiving a monthly supplementary pension or ZusatzrentePLUS from the KZVK Rheinland-Westfalen.

The supplementary pensions and the corresponding entitlements of the insured are mainly financed by employer contributions. Insurance and benefit law are regulated by the applicable statutes or the general insurance conditions (ZusatzrentePLUS). With regard to insurance and performance law, the articles of association essentially correspond to the model articles of association of AKA. The AKA model statute adopts the respective public service tariff law.

The KZVK Rhineland-Westphalia is a member of the Working Group on Municipal and Church Pensions (AKA) e. V. It also works closely in working groups with the north-west German supplementary pension funds, the church supplementary pension funds operating in Germany and the supplementary pension funds Hessen-Südwest.

Furthermore, the fund is a member of the Sustainable Investments Forum and successfully completed the EMAS III (environmental management) certification process in 2011 and at the same time received the "Green Cock", which symbolizes church environmental management. The EMAS certificate was handed over on September 1, 2011. The fund has been a member of the Church Environmental Management Network, or KirUm for short, since 2013.
