The Zlarin concentration camp ( campo di concentramento de Zlarino ) was at the time of the Second World War an Italian concentration camp of fascist Italy on the island of Zlarin, which today belongs to Croatia . The camp existed from March 25, 1943 to June 15, 1943, was guarded by 120 soldiers and 20 carabinieri, and was used for interning and deporting Yugoslav civilians. About 2,500 prisoners passed through the camp, and there were 26 deaths mainly due to malnutrition, poor hygienic conditions and torture.
