Kagisho Evidence Dikgacoi (pronunciation: [ ka'xisʰo dik'xaǀoi ], Anglicized [ kəˈhiːsəʊ dɪˈkækɔɪ ]; born November 24, 1984 in Brandfort ) is a South African football player . The defensive midfielder was under contract with Cardiff City between 2014 and 2016 and was part of the South African national team at the 2010 World Cup in his own country .

Career

Dikgacoi came in 2005 from the lower class Bloemfontein Young Tigers to the first division club Golden Arrows . In the 2006/07 season Dikgacoi established himself there and has been part of the regular team ever since. In the summer of 2008, the defensive specialist, who had strong headers and tackles, was faced with a move to the English first division club Fulham for the first time , but this ultimately failed due to a lack of a work permit. A year later he was finally granted the work permit and he moved to the London club. On his Premier League debut on October 4, 2009, he was sent off with red after a blow against West Ham player Scott Parker after 41 minutes.

National team

Dikgacoi made his debut in the South African national team in 2007 and was in the squad for the African Cup in early 2008 . In a World Cup qualifier against Equatorial Guinea in June 2008, the powerful midfielder scored his first two goals for the national team. At the Confederations Cup in 2009 , Dikgacoi played all five tournament games over the full distance when South Africa finished fourth. A year later at the World Cup in his own country, he was in the central midfield alongside Reneilwe Letsholonyane to the regular staff and played in the first two group games. A yellow card suspension prevented him from playing in the last group game against France.
