Bare cliff

The Kahle Klippe is a rock formation in the High Harz Mountains on the western slope of the Brocken above the Ecker valley in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located about halfway between the Hirtenweg level crossing and the Ecker at 1011.5  m above sea level. NN . The cliff cannot be seen from the Brocken summit. The best view is from the direction of Lower Saxony's Torfhaus . Since the cliff is located in the core zone of the Harz National Park, it may only be visited with the approval of the National Park administration. It is one of the most difficult to reach cliffs in the Hochharz. An old forest path leads past the cliff about 100 m away.

To the northwest of the Kahler Klippe lies the even more inaccessible Brandklippe (approx. 920  m above sea level ).
