Kaila (unit)

Kaila was a volume and grain measure in Egypt .

  • 1 Kaila = 8 Quadah ≈ 7.5 liters (today officially 16.5 liters)

In the 16th century the quela was 1/8 Alqueira (= 13.566 liters) and was only ≈ 1.7 liters. Quela is considered Portuguese for Kaila.

Note: Not equal to the measure of kail .
