Kaisaniemi ( Swedish Kajsaniemi ) is the name for part of the center of the Finnish capital Helsinki . Usually the area between the main train station and Hakaniemi is meant, especially the area around the Kaisaniemenkatu. The park of the same name is also part of Kaisaniemi. The park borders the Kaisaniemenlahti (Kaisaniemi Bay) in the north.

Like many other common toponyms in Helsinki, the term Kaisaniemi is alien to the official subdivision of the district. Officially, the area essentially belongs to the Kluuvi district .

The Helsinki Botanical Garden and the Kaisaniemi restaurant, which opened in 1827 and one of the oldest restaurants in Finland, are located in Park Kaisaniemi . The park is also often used for larger events, such as the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival .

In the Kaisaniemenkatu are u. a. the Helsingin yliopisto metro station , the main building of the Helsinki University Library , the Kinopalatsi (the second largest cinema in the city) and the Caisa cultural center .
