Kaiser Wilhelm II Monument (Ålesund)
The Kaiser Wilhelm II Memorial is a memorial in the Norwegian city of Ålesund .
The monument erected in honor of the German Emperor Wilhelm II is located in Ålesund City Park below the Aksla mountain .
The reason for the erection of the memorial was the quick help for Ålesund after the devastating fire of Ålesund in 1904. The memorial was created by Lars Utne and was ceremoniously unveiled on July 5, 1910. It was created as a seven-meter-high obelisk with a relief depicting the profile of the emperor. The inscription is the text Wilhelm II. 1904 . The monument was financed by citizens of the city.
