Kaiser Family Foundation is a US company headquartered in Menlo Park , California . The non-profit company conducts its own research on health policy issues, which are then made available to politicians, the media, health companies and the public. history

The company was founded in 1945 by Henry J. Kaiser and his wife Bess Kaiser. The conglomerate of the Kaiser Family Foundation, Kaiser Industries and Kaiser Permanente fell apart in 1977. Initially, the foundation was equipped with larger company shares in Kaiser Permanente. By 1985, however, all shares in Kaiser Permanente were sold so that the Kaiser Family Foundation could operate as an independent company.
