Kaiserlinde (Elversberg)

Former location of the Kaiserlinde in Elversberg. The overturned flower pot is intended to commemorate the night of March 30th to March 31st, 2015, when the linden tree fell on the nearby roundabout.

The Kaiserlinde in Elversberg (also Elversberger Kaiserlinde or Neunkircher Kaiserlinde ) was an Kaiserlinde in Spiesen-Elversberg on Lindenstrasse, corner of Waldstrasse, in the Neunkirchen district ( Saarland ). It was protected as a natural monument with the identification D 407 04.

The linden tree was planted as a commemorative linden tree for the 25th anniversary of the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm II on April 15, 1913. She gave the name to the Waldstadion Kaiserlinde, built in 1983 by the former third division club SV Elversberg .

During the hurricane "Niklas" in the night of March 30th to March 31st, 2015, she was uprooted in a gust on March 31st at 8:20 am and fell into the nearby roundabout. A flower bed has been laid out on the site of the former imperial linden tree since summer 2015. A huge flower pot lying on its side, from which stylized flowers fall out, is intended to remind of the fallen imperial linden tree.
