The Kalksieper Erbstolln is a former Erbstollen in Essen-Bredeney- Baldeney. The Kalksieper Erbstolln was also known as the Kalksiepen mine . The tunnel mouth hole of the Erbstollen was located east of the Heissi forest at the height of the Ruhr weir. Despite the over 75-year history of the Erbstollen, little is reported about it.

history

In 1800 the license to operate the Erbstollen was granted by the Abbot of Werden . Presumably the tunnel was opened afterwards, because in 1802 the tunnel was within time limits . In 1836, 373⅜ tons of Prussian hard coal were mined. In 1837 the re-establishment took place. In 1838 mining was again carried out with 16 miners . On March 27 and 28 of the same year, two length fields were awarded . In 1840 a coal store was built on the Ruhr. The production rose this year to 14,441½ Prussian tons. In 1842 the production increased again to 18,114 Prussian tons. There is evidence that the Erbstollen was in operation between 1845 and 1858. In 1861, three miners extracted 2,926 Prussian tonnes of hard coal. In the following year the coal reserves above the bottom of the tunnel were almost depleted. At that time the mine belonged to the Kettwig mining area . From 1863 to 1865 the Erbstollen was still in operation. In the years 1875 and 1879 he was mentioned again in the documents. However, no information was given about any funding. Presumably the Erbstollen was out of order earlier.
