Cold deformation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cold deformation and cold deformation are synonyms and describe the plastic deformation of metals below the recrystallization temperature . Some authors differentiate between deformation and deformation, with deformation denoting a targeted plastic change in shape and deformation an untargeted plastic change in shape (e.g. when a car crashes). The distinction is irrelevant for the processes in the material. These are described in the article on cold forming.
