The camel head near Altleiningen is a rock made of red sandstone . It is surrounded by smaller rocks at a height of 375  m above sea level. NN on the Kupferberg in the Palatinate Forest . The name of the approximately six meter high rock is the striking camel's head shape pointing to the northeast. The formation, which is divided into numerous layers, contains the pebbly quartz inclusions typical of the Lower Buntsandstein . Hikers can reach the Kamelkopf from the parking lot on Höninger Hauptstrasse in half an hour.
