Kamikaze was a television show that ran on VIVA ZWEI from 1998 to 2001 , moderated by Niels Ruf and produced by his company, Welttruf . Usually a prominent guest was invited, who was interviewed by Ruf. The show became known in particular through the host's provocative remarks, which earned him the title “TV piglet of the nation” and several attempts at recruiting from the competing broadcaster MTV . The program was discontinued in 2001 after Ruf was said to have made contempt for a colleague who had skin cancer. According to the judicial determination, this was a false claim, but it offered an occasion to put him in front of the door at VIVA ZWEI.

Highlights of the show were released on DVD under the title Pest of Kamikaze .
