Chamber car

The chamber car is a granite rock with wool sack weathering on a small forest meadow between Jelení (deer stand) and Nové Hamry (Neuhammer) in the Czech Ore Mountains .

history

In the wooded upper Western Ore Mountains, in the area of the Eibenstock tourmaline granites, there are numerous granite rocks with the typical weathering, which resemble sacks filled with wool and therefore gave their name. These rock formations have stimulated the imagination of the inhabitants of the Ore Mountains for centuries. This led to these rocks being given special names and stories and legends being told about them. This is also the case with the rock called the Kammerwagen at Hirschenstand, whose older name was Haunted Fuhrwerk .

Say about the chamber car

There are several versions of the saga of the chamber car, including a farmer's wagon turned to stone by forest gods, loaded with cupboards, chests and bedding.
