In the city of Idar-Oberstein, a part of the Nahe with its bank areas is called Kammerwoog , downstream from the barrage of the same name to just before the inner-city overbuilding of the river.

Woog is actually the name for a body of standing water; the Nahe flowed slowly after a bend in the river. The conditions have changed in this regard after the construction of the barrage .

The name Kammerwoog was also used to designate a closed outdoor swimming pool on the Kammerwoog in the Oberstein district. Some time ago it was decided to only operate one swimming pool in Idar-Oberstein. The choice fell on the swimming pool in Tiefenstein , which was then converted into a natural medicinal bath. This forced the Kammerwoog swimming pool to close.
