The Kamp-Lintfort Gladiators were a football club from Kamp-Lintfort that existed from 1982 to 1994. The senior team played in the 2nd Bundesliga at the best of times. The youth team took part in games independently from 1988 to 1989 and 1991 and from 1992 to 1994 in the form of a syndicate.

history

Founded in 1982, they took part in a game for the first time on March 5, 1983 and from the 1984 season played in regular play, initially in the 2nd Bundesliga. Here the gladiators reached the last place without a win or a draw, so that they had to play in the regional league in 1985. This year, with second place, the direct return to the 2nd Bundesliga was achieved, in which one could stay from 1986 to 1988, although some members left the club in 1986 after a dispute over whether the team should move to Duisburg and the Duisburg Dockers founded.

1988 was also the year in which a youth team of the Gladiators first took part in the league. Except for one rated game, none of the competitive games could be won, and the seniors only played two draws against the Uerdingen Devils and were thus last in the 2nd Bundesliga West. While the seniors recovered in the following season and achieved a good third place in the regional league, the juniors collapsed completely and lost every game without scoring a single point . It looked similar in 1990: in the second division, the men held up well, while the youth did not take part in the game.

However, the seniors could not finish their season in 1991, so that one year later they had to start in the lowest division. The offspring could only survive through a syndicate with the Duisburg Dockers, which was retained until 1994. The senior team stopped playing in 1993, after the second year in the association league.
