Johann Eberhard Hoffmann
Johann Eberhard Hoffmann (* April 1708 in Delling ; † 1767 in Elberfeld ) was the mayor of Elberfeld.
Life
Hoffmann was born as the son of the preacher Heinrich Hoffmann, who came from Meiderich and had lived in Delling since 1699, and his wife Anna Katharina Garschagen, whose family came from Lennep. Meanwhile moved to Elberfeld, he married Anna Margareta Blank (1705–1767) from Wülfrath on September 2, 1734, with whom he had six children, three of whom died early.
Hoffmann himself was never a member of the council and was only elected mayor of Elberfeld in 1760. The following year he was a city judge.
