Delling is a district of the municipality of Kürten in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . Delling is east of Bornen and Olpe . It is the titular place of an early Protestant parish .

Location and description

Delling, divided by the Olpebach , is divided into the front and rear Delling, with the front Delling denoting the former noble estate Delling, which in 1707 became the property of the Protestant parish, which has celebrated its services there since around 1620. This part is characterized by the small classical church from 1834 and the former manor house at the bottom of the valley. The former farm of the noble estate is now the restaurant " In der Delling ".

The former teacher's house from 1724, the sexton's house from the early 20th century, the parsonage from 1958 and the former farm workforce complete the ensemble. The front Delling currently has 10 residents. The rear delling is characterized by loose residential developments along the street. A riding stable and an old blacksmith's shop set the tone here. 18 people currently live here.

The Olpebachtal nature reserve (GL-016) is located near the village .

history

Dellingen did not appear as a Protestant community until 1672, long after the Reformation. However, due to the comparatively young age of the place, the name does not have an -ingen form, but has the meaning of " Talung " ( dent in the sense of a hollow in the terrain).

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715, Blatt Amt Steinbach , shows that the place already existed as Ort and Freyhof in 1715 and was called Delling . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Delling . It shows that at that time Delling was part of the Olpe Honschaft in the parish of Olpe in the district court of Kürten.

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813 the Steinbach office was dissolved and Delling was politically assigned to Mairie Olpe in the canton of Wipperfürth in the Elberfeld arrondissement . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the Olpe mayor in the Wipperfürth district . At that time Delling belonged to the municipality of Olpe.

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 and on the Prussian first survey of 1840 as Delling . From the Prussian new admission in 1892, it is regularly recorded as Delling on measuring table sheets .

In 1822 49 people lived in the place categorized as a courtyard. In 1830 the place had 54 inhabitants. The place, which was categorized as a church village in 1845 according to the overview of the government district of Cologne , had eight houses at that time. At that time, 66 residents lived in the village, 32 of them Catholic and 34 Protestant. The municipality and estate district statistics of the Rhine Province listed Delling 1871 with eleven houses and 53 inhabitants. In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province from 1888, eight houses with 41 residents are given. In 1895 the place had nine houses and 30 residents. In 1905 the place had eight houses and 36 inhabitants and belonged denominationally to the Catholic parish of Olpe and is itself a Protestant parish for the entire municipality of Kürten.

In 1927 the Olpe mayor's office was transferred to the Olpe office. In the Weimar Republic in 1929 the offices of Kürten were merged with the municipalities of Kürten and Bechen and Olpe with the municipalities of Olpe and Wipperfeld to form the office of Kürten. The Wipperfürth district became part of the Rheinisch-Bergisch district on October 1, 1932, with its seat in Bergisch Gladbach .

In 1975 the current municipality of Kürten was established on the basis of the Cologne Act , to which, in addition to the offices of Kürten, Bechen and Olpe, a sub-area of the city of Bensberg with Dürscheid and the surrounding areas was added.
