Location of Keffermich in Kürten

Keffermich is a district of the municipality of Kürten in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . Together with Kochsfeld, it is located west of Bechen in a cul-de-sac from Altenberger Strasse.

history

The proper name Keffermich originated from "cambete" (Kamp, forest pasture). Anton von Keffermich was Lehnmann on Hofgericht to Strauweiler .

During the War of the Spanish Succession , the Odenthalers also had to make their contributions to national defense. In this context, a Henrich zu Kefermich is listed among others . He had to provide 10  fascines and 30  stakes . A tax list from 1586 shows that the village was part of the Breidbach community in the Odenthal parish.

The Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies , Blatt Amt Miselohe , shows that the residential area was categorized as a courtyard in 1715 and was named Kefermich . Carl Friedrich von Wiebeking names the court on his charter of the Duchy of Berg in 1789 as Kefermich . It shows that Keffermich was part of Oberodenthal in the Odenthal rulership at that time .

Under the French administration between 1806 and 1813, the rule was dissolved. Keffermich was politically assigned to Mairie Odenthal in the canton of Bensberg . In 1816 the Prussians converted the Mairie to the mayor's office in Odenthal in the Mülheim am Rhein district .

The place is on the topographical recording of the Rhineland from 1824, on the Prussian first recording from 1840 and from the Prussian new recording from 1892 on it is regularly recorded on measuring table sheets as Keffermich or without a name. Keffermich was part of the Catholic parish Odenthal.
