Dahl is a residential area in the municipality of Kürten in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

Location and description

The place is east of Junkermühle on the Dahler Bach , a tributary of the Kürtener Sülz .

history

The place is recorded on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 as Thal and on the Prussian first survey of 1840 as Dahl . At that time Dahl belonged to the municipality of Olpe. From the Prussian new admission in 1892, it is regularly recorded as Dahl on measuring table sheets .

In 1822 63 people lived in the place categorized as Hof and called Dahl . In 1830 the place had 69 inhabitants. The place, which was categorized as a hamlet in 1845 according to the overview of the government district of Cologne , had 13 houses at that time. At that time there were 62 residents in the village, all of them of Catholic faith. The municipality and manor district statistics of the Rhine Province are listed in Dahl 1871 with eleven houses and 64 inhabitants. In the municipality encyclopedia for the Rhineland province of 1888 ten houses with 67 inhabitants are given. In 1895 the place had ten houses and 62 inhabitants. In 1905 the place had seven houses and 54 inhabitants and belonged denominationally to the Catholic parish of Olpe.

In 1927 the Olpe mayor's office was transferred to the Olpe office. In the Weimar Republic in 1929 the offices of Kürten were merged with the municipalities of Kürten and Bechen and Olpe with the municipalities of Olpe and Wipperfeld to form the office of Kürten. The Wipperfürth district became part of the Rheinisch-Bergisch district on October 1, 1932, with its seat in Bergisch Gladbach .

In 1975 the current municipality of Kürten was established on the basis of the  Cologne Act , to which, in addition to the offices of Kürten, Bechen and Olpe, a sub-area of ​​the city of Bensberg with Dürscheid and the surrounding areas was added.
